Incline Dumbbell Flys

Incline dumbbell flys should be performed at a bench that is angled upwards at about 45 degrees. Holding a dumbbell in each hand, lower your arms down as far as your flexibility allows while keeping a slight bend in your elbows to relieve stress on your joints.

Bring the weights back up in front of your chest by raising your arms in a smooth arc.

Tips

* By performing this movement on an incline bench, most of the effort is shifted to the clavicular head, or upper part of the pectoralis major The upper portion of your chest is the largest part, so this exercise should be one which you regularly include in your chest workouts.
* Remember to move your arms in an arc as you raise and lower the dumbbells, rather than simply moving them straight up and down as you would during pressing exercises.
